How we travel

Your own vehicle, your own guide, every day

We do not run shared departures. The vehicle is yours, the day starts when you want it to, and the guide stays with you from arrival to departure.

  • Extended Toyota Land Cruiser, fully open pop-up roof
  • Never more than six guests, with a window seat for everyone
  • Fridge, charging points and Wi-Fi where there is signal
  • Binoculars, reference books and a camera bean bag on board
  • Radio contact with our Arusha office throughout
  • Standby vehicles positioned in every park we operate in

“We believe that the best safari moments are often the unexpected ones: a lion resting on a kopje at sunrise, elephants moving quietly through the bush, or a leopard disappearing into the golden grassland.”

Where we travel

When to go

There is no bad month — only different ones

  1. January – March

    Calving on the short grass

Half a million wildebeest calves born on the southern plains, with predators close behind. Hot, bright, and the best cat action of the year.

    Peak for predators

  2. April – May

    Green season

The long rains. Landscapes at their most photogenic, camps at their quietest, and the lowest prices we offer.

    Best value

  3. June – October

    Dry season and the crossings

Wildlife concentrates on permanent water; the herds move north to the Mara river from late July. Our busiest months — book early.

    Classic season

  4. November – December

    Short rains, returning herds

Brief afternoon showers, green plains and the migration pushing back south. Good value either side of Christmas.

For June to October, nine to twelve months is realistic — the small camps we use hold very few rooms. For the green season, three to four months is usually enough.
